Data Rules Table A Programs are required to submit enrollment and completer data on the previous three years. Assessments Programs are required to submit data that represent two applications of the assessment. That is, the assessment must be given and data collected at least two times. If an assessment is in a class that is offered every semester, then the two applications could be satisfied in one academic year. If the assessment is in a class that is offered once per year, then the two applications would take two academic years. For revised and response to conditions reports, data from one application of the assessment would be required for full recognition. New Programs submit one year of data.

2020 NASP Standards Key Updates and Changes: Standards for Graduate Preparation of School Psychologists Standard 4 Highlights: Performance-Based Program Assessment and Accountability Practicum evaluation Internship evaluation Evaluation of impact
2020 NASP Standards Standard 5. School Psychology Program Support/Resources No major changes from 2010 Standards
Assessments Changes from 2010 to 2020 There are NO changes from 2010 to 2020 on: 1. Assessment Rules 2. Assessment 1, 2, and 4.
Assessments Changes from 2010 to 2020 There are 3 changes from 2010 to 2020 on: 1. Assessment 3 (Practicum) Change: The wording is more descriptive regarding expectations of experiences during practicum. At a minimum, practicum experiences, and thus, assessment, must include: A. Psychoeducational Assessment B. Academic Intervention C. Behavior Intervention
Assessments Changes from 2010 to 2020 2. Assessment 3 (Practicum) Change: As a reviewer, you should look for field-based evaluation items that align with psychoeducational assessment, academic intervention, and behavior intervention The field-based practicum evaluation instrument might have many additional areas the program faculty want to assess, but, for NASP, it must have these three and they need to be in-depth.
Assessments Changes from 2010 to 2020 3. Assessment 3 (Practicum) What is in depth? Answer: Enough evaluation items to determine if the field supervisor can assess the practicum student s ability to A. Assess, interpret, and communicate findings of a psychoeducational assessment B. Provide evidence-based interventions and determine effectiveness as it relates to academic interventions C. Provide evidence-based interventions and determine effectiveness as it relates to behavior interventions
Assessments Changes from 2010 to 2020 Assessment 5 (Performance-Based Skills Assessment) 2 changes: 1. Up to 50% of case studies submitted can be from practicum, while the other 50% must be from internship. 2. Focus in on performance-based skills programs do NOT need to submit a comprehensive portfolio that includes dispositions, sample reports, etc .. Please review and comment if this information is present but do not critique if not
Assessments Changes from 2010 to 2020 Assessment 6 (Assessment of Candidate Impact) One Change: The program requires candidates to generate and evaluate data that assesses impact, and faculty analyze this data to evaluate candidates ability to do so. Program is not required to have candidates show positive impact. Instead, can the candidate evaluate impact Understand data can be used from Assessment 5. Therefore, a case might be from practicum
