  3. FORMALDEHYDE Sterilizer and fungicide Use in well ventilated area Respiratory and skin irritant Prevent skin contact, wear gloves and chemically resistant clothing 3

  4. SODIUM HYDROXIDE (CAUSTIC SODA) Fat and grease remover Highly corrosive caustic Skin, eye, and respiratory irritation Prevent skin and eye contact Wear gloves, safety glasses or goggles, and protective clothing to prevent contact 4

  5. ACIDS Acetic, citric, sulfuric, hydrochloric, and other acids Sanitation chemical Varying levels of corrosive Skin and eye irritant prevent contact Wear appropriate gloves, safety glasses or goggles, and protective clothing 5

  6. AMMONIA (AQUEOUS IN SOLUTION) Sanitation chemical Corrosive Incompatible with bleach Skin burns and eye irritant prevent contact Wear gloves, safety glasses or goggles, and protective clothing 6

  7. AMMONIA IN REFRIGERATION Anhydrous ammonia (ammonia without water) is also frequently used in refrigeration systems in food processing. It is flammable and corrosive gas with a strong odor of ammonia and white vapor. Skin burns, eye and respiratory irritant. 7
