  3. Instructional Vision To meet these raised expectations, we must clarify our focus on what our students need. Specifically, we must ensure this year that our students English language arts Comprehend (access) meaningful, on level texts Speak and write in response to meaningful texts Math students Master math concepts of priority, on level content and practice standards (not just procedures) Master targeted remedial content that allows practice faster focus of on level content Louisiana Believes 3

  4. Teacher Leader Summit: Day 1 Ready! This Summit will prepare teachers to make these shifts beginning the first day of the 14-15 school year. This will include focused training on: Student Learning Targets Assessment Standards, curricula, and instructional strategies Louisiana Believes 4

  5. Unit Focus (The Big Idea) Unit Text Sets Daily Tasks Assessment Culminating Writing Task Cold Read Assessments Understanding the Text Expressing the Text Anchor Literary Informational Non-print Texts Extension Tasks Reading the Text ELA Guidebook Overview

  10. Think of everything that you have learned at the summit. Take a few minutes and list all of these on the graphic organizer provided. Brainstorm

  11. Teacher says Stand up, hand up, pair up! Students: stand up with one hand in air until you find the closest partner who is not your teammate. Teacher asks a question or gives an assignment. Teacher provides think time . Stand Up, Hand Up, Pair Up

  12. Discuss with your partner what are 3 things that you would like to bring back to your site first? Your Big 3

  13. Your big three should be numbered 1. You should prioritize the rest of this list with an even number of 2 and 3. Prioritize Graphic Organizer

  14. These meetings are done once a week during teacher s planning time. These meetings are mostly used as Professional Development. Grade Level Meetings

  15. We have one hour PLC meetings once a week. We do not conduct PD in these meetings but many times the information presented here helps teachers in planning and understanding their data. Personal Learning Communities

  16. We have worked to transform our faculty meetings this year to PD meetings. Most of the other stuff can be sent in an email so this is a great time to meet with the entire staff. Faculty Meetings

  17. These are great days that your entire staff can meet or even collaborate with another school. In-Service Days

  18. You can use Blackboard, Edmodo, or even email. You can easily create a video or PowerPoint for staff to receive new information. Technology

  19. Teacher announces the topic. Teacher gives you think time . In pairs, Partner A writes an answer to the topic then passes paper and pencil to Partner B. Partner B writes and answer and passes it back to Partner A. Steps 3 & 4 continue until the teacher calls time . Pairs compare their list with other team pair. Rally Table

  20. What are some ways that you can redeliver at your site? Topic

  21. Is there a new way that you could create at your site? What could that look like? Rally Table

  22. When will you redeliver all of the information that you have learned? Your number ones should be delivered in the first four weeks of school. Numbers 2 and 3 should be delivered throughout the year. Gantt Chart
