Mackie Cricket Club STRATEGIC PLAN 2019-2021
Background After a period of stagnation and decline, in 2018 a group of committee and members of the Mackie Cricket Club desired to embark upon a course of club improvement. This group is committed to the long term future and prosperity of the Mackie Cricket Club. The following plan outlines a roadmap to achieve our objectives to work with SECA and other associations to ensure the vision of the club is achieved and to be united as a committee and playing group on the opportunities that may arise.
Mackie Cricket Club - Vision Statement The Mackie Cricket Club will provide elite facilities and coaching for senior and junior players and a supporting and socially-friendly environment and culture for members and supporters to achieve success on and off the field and strengthen our links with the community.

Strategic analysis Strengths history, location, facilities improvement, commitment of committee, youth development, financial stability, successful grants. Our past proven strategies of junior development have worked. Weaknesses decline in culture, disconnect with many of our previous junior players, number of players and teams, low membership, low sponsorship engagement, team performances Opportunities wider engagement with community and neighbouring clubs, leverage local government relationships, better utilisation of our grounds, improving facilities, engagement with senior (over 50s) community Threats Further decline in culture, memberships, players, teams, and financial stability. Competition by other local clubs for the same community

Revenue and Expenditure targets Objectives 1. Stabilise revenues from all operations 2. Marginally increase revenues from social functions 3. Stabilise costs from social functions 4. Maintain cash levels 5. Increase spending on cricket infrastructure and development 6. Review the concept of overseas players including their cost 7. Retention of current sponsors and attraction of new sponsors
Improve junior program Objectives 1. Developing better communications with junior parents 2. Develop a better understanding of our junior players, their parents, and the skills that each and all can bring to our club 3. Build a strong learning environment for our junior players 4. Build an infrastructure that supports the maximum development of each junior player 5. Increase the expertise of our junior coaches and managers 6. Establish a team for each age group 7. Identify our elite juniors and provide them with the skills that assists them to play elite cricket junior scholarship
Recruitment through the grades Objectives 1. Developing better communications with all players 2. Develop a better understanding of our players and make each player valued 3. Provide captains who nurture and bring out the best in each player 4. Provide support for each team manager, scorer 5. Establish an inclusive bridge that transitions our juniors into senior players 6. Develop female teams indoor and outdoor 7. Develop male indoor team 8. Develop over 50s cricket teams
Building Culture through Responsibility 1. Defining specific roles of responsibility 2. Players are given an off-field team (OFTs, like a house colour) 3. OFTS to develop leadership through responsibility 4. Yearly award for team that gains the most points 5. OFTs shall take on and share team-building responsibilities 6. Managers responsibility to roster OFTs 7. Suggested names of OFTs Park, Rainey, Pearson, Evans, Barnes
Premiership success Objectives 1. Establish squads where each member feels they have a genuine chance for senior selection 2. Build a strong culture within each squad, maximising abilities 3. Reconnect with recently lost players who should be at our club 4. Provide elite infrastructure to support all teams 5. Develop elite juniors into elite senior players 6. Membership 1. Continuous membership a non-playing base amount, plus subscription if playing. 2. Membership groups Bronze (5 years), Silver (10 years), Gold (20 years), Platinum (30 years), Palladium (50 years). 3. Discounts at Canteen, Machine Shop, and Mackie Partners based on membership group. 4. Membership can be maintained via direct debit or EFT. 5. Life membership is not included in Continuous membership benefits. 6. By October 31st, players need to have paid subs in full or entered in an agreement to pay by instalment. 7. JLT portion of subs needs to be paid prior to their first game.
