Le Le futur futur simple simple We have learned a little about the future tense already. We have learned how to form le futur proche, equivalent to the English I am going to . Like I am going to in English, le futur proche in French is used to talk about something you plan to do in the near future. 3
But in French, as in English, there is another future tense, which is used to talk about something you re thinking of doing at some time in the future (but you re not sure when). This is called le futur simple and is equivalent to the English I will . Note, however: In French le futur simple consists of just one word; the will bit of the English future is added on to the end of the verb.
