IMPORTANT POINTS: START as soon as possible. LEARNERS must have a PAT portfolio. IF uncertain, please ask. SCHOOLS must be prepared to be moderated by DBE; planning is very important. Remember PAT counts 25% of FINAL Mark. PAT consist of PHASE 1 (Simulation) and PHASE 2 (Project) VERY IMPORTANT KEEP EVIDENCE OF LEARNERS WORK, NO EVIDENCE NO MARKS
IMPORTANT POINTS: Use given RUBRIC as guideline when planning and making. Phase 1 must be FINISHED by 8 MAY 2023
UNPACKING PAT 2023: PHASE 1: SUMILATION (CIVIL SERVICES) CALCULATIONS Make sure learners do their own work. TEACHERS responsible for marking guidelines for calculations. ONE set of pipes and fittings must be available. When moderating the layout, position of pipes and assembly of pipes, ONLY one learner at a time. Make sure all relevant equipment, tools, and material are available. Labelling of different parts.
SUGGESTIONS SUGGESTIONS You as teacher/educator must first build. Show learners once in class, let them practice a few time before testing them. Planning is the key for success
UNPACKING PAT 2023: PHASE 2: Chair with backrest (WOODWORKING) Specifications for the Chair with backrest: Must consist of a; BACK REST, SEAT, AND SUPPORT FOR THE SEAT MINIMUM HEIGHT OF SEAT IS 300 mm. Small chair for a creche/Grade R pupil. MAXIMUM HEIGHT OF CHAIR IS SEAT 450 mm VERY IMPORTANT LEARNERS should use their own creativity and innovation when designing and making the product. Finishing of product Please make sure the final product is sanded properly and surface is smooth after painting, varnishing or oiling.

Scale drawings (SANS 1110 & 1043 must be adhered to)M 3. Assessment Criteria 4. Declaration of authenticity 5. Bibliography 6. Extra information
