  1. 21STCCLC JOURNEYS Parent Orientation

  2. Page 5: HOURS OF OPERATION The Journeys calendar mimics the District calendar Monday-Friday 3:00-5:30 Students must be picked up by 5:30 After two late pickups, your child will be considered for dismissal from the program. Journeys will not meet on days the school dismisses early.

  3. Page 8: ADMISSION & REGISTRATION Students must have a completed registration packet before attending. Winfield City Students in Kindergarten-Grade 8 Registration permits your student to participate in all activities (excluding field trips). Attendance is free. Space is limited! Hours of attendance and discipline are considered when accepting students to the program.

  4. Page 8: PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS Students must not be dangerous, disruptive, or a threat to themselves or others. Students must interact with other children and adults in a non-aggressive manner. Students must be able to participate in group activities with other children. Students must respond to their first names. Should not have a medical condition(s) that require services beyond the qualifications of the staff. If your child requires special assistance, please indicate on the registration form.

  5. Page 8-9: ATTENDANCE Journeys 21stCCLC is a federally funded program with strict guidelines. Students with sporadic attendance or extended absences will be dismissed from the program. Student hours attended will be considered when accepting students into the program. Children must be signed out each day. Only adults 18 and older may pick up a student. If absent from school due to illness, the student may not attend Journeys. If your student is absent from Journeys for three or more consecutive days, please call/message the site coordinator. Attendance is mandatory and will be considered to remain in the program.

  7. Page 12: CELL PHONE POLICY The purpose of the 21stCCLC is to support community learning centers in providing academic enrichment opportunities. Cell Phone Policy Cell phones, air pods, headphones, and electronic games are only allowed at times designated by the teacher. Your child will be asked ONE time to put the device away.

Page 12-13: DISCIPLINE 1stOffense Warning, timeout, conference with the student, and discipline letter to parent at pickup. 2ndOffense Timeout, conference with the student, phone call to parent for pickup, and a second discipline form. 3rdOffense Timeout, conference with the student, phone call to parent for pickup, a third discipline form, and conference with administration. 4thOffense Timeout, conference with the student, phone call to parent for pickup, conference with administration, suspension from Journeys 21stCCLC program for a set number of days, depending on the severity of the behavior, and a fourth discipline form. 5thOffense - Timeout, conference with the student, phone call to parent for pickup, conference with administration, a fifth discipline form, and expulsion from the program.
