HELLO FUTURE How do we repurpose funding for meaningful experiences for Grade 7& 8 students? Apply for changes through SCWI, cycle 6 to repurpose funds Approach faculty to develop the activities Order all components of each kit Hire assistance to assemble and deliver activities
HELLO FUTURE How do we determine the type of kit that would appeal to students? Talk to faculty of hands - on courses Discuss what would be practical for board contact Align kits with Grade 7 & 8 curriculum
What did we come up with? Culinary Kit How to Make Focaccia Bread Complete kit with instructions, ingredients , video by one of our chefs and information about Culinary programs Carpentry Birdhouse 3 Sister s Garden planter Design Thinking business activity
HELLO FUTURE Challenges Determining which faculties would best be suited to learning with kits Hiring staff to develop the kits Assembly, delivery and timing Rewards Continue to Promote SLC and our programs Engage Grade 7 & 8 students in a meaningful way in challenging times
A happy Grade 8 student! I loved making the bread! It made the house smell good! The bread was yummy!
