This presentation discusses the Dart Compact No-Till Seed Drill, a revolutionary agricultural machine designed by a University of Guelph student. The Dart is a lightweight, mechanical system that requires only 15 hp to operate and can be pulled by a team of oxen. It can plant a variety of seeds in various conditions, making it a labor-saving device for farmers. The machine retails for 750,000 Rupees and eliminates the need for ongoing costs once delivered. By using the Dart, farmers can save days of manual labor, allowing them to focus on other priorities.

  6. Costs After Shipping the Dart would retail for approximately 750000 Rupees ($8300 CAN). Rememberthis product has no ongoing costs once it is delivered except for fuel (if tractors are being used) and that this is a viable price for a co-operative group of farmers. 15hp tractor uses approximately 2.75L of fuel/hr. 936 rupees This planter can sew 1 ha/hr (depending on soil conditions). To manually seed a 1 ha field takes anywhere between 4-7 days. By saving days worth of hard manual labour, both the farmer and their workers would be able to invest their efforts towards other needs/priorities.
