  1. International Conference on Photo-irradiation and Adsorption based Novel Innovations for Water- treatment (PANI-WATER) (Under the framework of Indo-EU PANI-Water project sponsored EC & DST) Website https://paniwater.eu/ Second Circular

  2. Background: About 2.1 billion people live without access to safe water sources. Contaminants of Emerging Concerns (CECs) such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, pesticides, nanoparticles, geogenic pollutants, pathogens, antibiotic resistant bacteria and antibiotic resistance genes are increasingly being detected in wastewater and in drinking water around the world. Water treatment systems that remove CECs and common contaminants from wastewater and drinking water are therefore urgently needed. The PANIWATER Project is one of the seven sponsored projects by the European Commission (EC), the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Department of Biotechnology, India, that will be implemented between 2019 and 2023. PANIWATER aims to develop and prototype six Innovative technologies that remove CECs and other pollutants from water. The PANI-WATER Project consortium consists of world-renowned Universities, Research Centers, Organizations and SMEs. Objectives: Providing an interdisciplinary forum for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss recent innovations, trends, concerns, practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted and future ideas in the field of AOP in Water and Wastewater Treatment. Bringing together leading scientists, researchers and industry stakeholders for enhancing prospects of dissemination of scientific knowledge/products Target Audience: Research Scholars, Students, Industry personnel, NGOs, Policy Makers, Government officials working in the broad areas of Chemical, Biological and Environmental, and Social Sciences and Technologies.

  3. Themes: PANI-Water will cover broad areas of Chemical, Biological and Environmental, and Social Sciences and Technologies with emphasis on the following topics Detection of Chemical and Microbiological Emerging contaminants Novel water treatment modules, design, and modeling.
