A plan you start in middle school, and continue to build & revise each year throughout high school. WHAT IS A HIGH SCHOOL AND BEYOND PLAN? Your High School & Beyond Plan (HSBP) is a personalized plan, designed to help you create & refine goals for your future, and to create a pathway through high school to achieve those goals. HSBP is a graduation requirement too!
WHY IS THE HIGH SCHOOL AND BEYOND PLAN IMPORTANT? This graduation requirement provides students with the opportunity to: explore their own skills and interests, and discover career and educational options that fit them personally. take ownership over their school experience and choose coursework and activities that connect to their goals.

Career Matchmaker Assessment Explore your own interests, and discover potential careers that match them Learning Style Assessment Identify and learn more about your preferred learning styles Reflect on the connection between learning styles and personalized strategies to help you in school and in a career 8TH GRADE Course Planning Learn about graduation requirements, and begin to build a high school plan, including 9thgrade course requests.
Each year, you will update your plan and add new components: 9-11TH GRADE Skills Assessment identifying skills and how those skills match up with different careers. Research education and training after high school as it relates to career interests. Finding the Right Match: explore factors to consider when choosing a college, career or training program after graduation. Revisit Career Matchmaker/Saved Careers: recognize that interests can change over time and evaluate current interests and potential career choices. Activities and Experiences: record activities and experiences you engage in and start to build a resume. Continue to track progress towards meeting graduation requirements and choose coursework and activities that are relevant to their High School and Beyond goals.
Completion of your HSBP requirement: 12TH GRADE Create a final interview-ready resume Prepare for and participate in your Senior Exit Interview Complete two Senior Surveys

In addition to required High School & Beyond Plan components, Career Cruising gives you access to other online tools to help you prepare for your future. Career Cruising can be accessed from school, home, or anywhere you have Internet access.

CAREER MATCHMAKER answer a series of questions about your interests review careers that best match your interests save two careers of interest to your profile
LEARNING STYLES answer questions about your preferences in various learning settings review your learning style results to discover strategies that best fit your strengths reflect on how your learning style relates to your career interests and academic opportunities
LOGGING ONTO CAREER CRUISING 1. Go to www.careercruising.com 2. Log in: a) b) Password: 7-digit ASB Number (on ASB Card) Username: ISSA-Username (ex. ISSA-SmitJoh23, ISSA-LeeMar23) 3. Click on Assessments on the top bar.
Update contact information: UPDATING INFORMATION Click onto My Account at the top of the page. Select Profile: Add Home Address and a Student Email that you check regularly.
SHARE YOUR PLAN WITH YOUR PARENTS: Click on Click on My Plan. Click on Click on Share My Plan at the top of the page. Click Click Invite Parent/Guardian. Input parent email.
