  4. FOR INTERNAL USE Harold Wood Cougars YFC Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund Through the same process, having this equipment improved their pitches 10 fold! With this equipment the fund will only provide us with 75% of the total cost, which means we as a club would need to fund the rest. We are currently going through the process of applying for funds via the FA to help us maintain and improve our pitches. As you know in the winter months particularly the pitches at the park don t always hold up well and with the increase of teams within the club its becoming more important that we try to give the players the best footballing experience as possible when it comes to the surface they play on. If you have any questions regarding this or would like to potentially help out in some way please let us know. We have already had a representative come over to the park & Prospect to take soil samples of all the pitches, and we have received the report regarding their condition. The next step is applying for the grant, which we are in the process of doing, in the hope we can start this project in the off season. Another Grant we are hoping to utilise is for us to have our own machinery so that we can cut, roll, scarify, slit & vertidrain our pitches in the future. Pictures of what this hopefully look like are here, from my recent visit to Rayleigh Town FC who have gone
