THE CRITERIA OF SECURED/PUBLIC LAND FOR IDPS The land either donated or public for IDPs should have the following criteria:- a) Not far from the town; b) Secured in a manner of charity to IDPs not particular interests c) The land should be collective not scattered plots; d) Not nearby industrial, chemical storage, solid waste area, military zone, Airport fencing e) Not Government restricted area

THE PROCESS OF DOCUMENTATION The land provided/donated for IDPs should be documented as per Land Policy guidelines and Temporary Land Documentation Process for IDPs:- a) Verified by the elders b) Signature from landlords (Declaration of ownership handover) c) Analysis the assurance, background of land d) Take GPS from the land from edge to edge e) Should be documented by the LG, and placed in GIS database f) The LG produce announcement letter to public which is about that land X is provided for IDPs g) Registered in Land Certificate Letter (LC) which is signed by MOI Minister, LG, RA, Elders, 1stGrade Court h) LC accompanied by LG Document should be submitted to Shelter Cluster and announced through media

LAND ADVOCACY PROCESS The land advocacy should be carried out by Land Advocacy Committee which consists of Elders, Governor, Mayor, Shiekhs, Businessmen and should be responsible for land advocacy, securing permanent land for IDPs through set of criteria (slide 1) and document as per process (Slide 2). The elders and sheikhs should have the leading role of securing permanent land for IDPs and do their best to secure enough land on December 2014 (at least 60%) The Regional Governor and Mayor have the responsibility to supervise the process of advocacy, securing, documentation

  5. LAND ALLOCATION/ DEMARCATION Demarcation should be carried out to ensure bonderies of the land Site planning, Land Allocation; metres/person
