How I Found My Book / What Resources I Used Part 1 Looked at graphic medicine discussion guides already created by NNLM Region 7. Looked at collections at Darien Library, Countway Library at Harvard Medical School, and UNLV. Realized there were no guides about eating disorders for NNLM Region 7 yet.
How I Found My Book / What Resources I Used Part 2 Found Lighter Than My Shadow by Katie Green on UNLV s website. Discusses the difficulties of eating disorders & types of therapy/recovery. Good topic especially for adolescents and people who work with adolescents.
How I Created My Discussion Guide/ What Resources I Used Read MedlinePlus page about anorexia and Healthline article about anorexia nervosa. Looked at already-created questions. Read the book and wrote down possible discussion questions. Wrote down everything that came to my mind (rough-draft questions).
How I Created My Discussion Guide: What Resources I Used Part 1 Read more general articles about eating disorders and binge eating disorder. Listened to an interview with the author, Katie Green. Searched for already-created discussion guides about the book for inspiration but found none.
How I Created My Discussion Guide/ What Resources I Used Part 2 Read reviews of Lighter Than My Shadow. Looked for questions on NNLM Region 7 discussion guides to adapt for my guide. Began revising my questions. Supervisor looked over my questions and suggested edits and I revised.
