  4. WASTE MANAGEMENT Our school has collaborated with the ICPA (Indian Pollution Control Association) under the S.O.R.T project. As a part of this project, our school has got equipped with Aerobins for proper management of the biodegradable waste generated in the school. The main idea is to motivate the learners to segregate waste and decrease the pressure on landfills. We release the food waste into the aerobins on a daily basis and regularly get it monitored by the learners. The compost generated is collected and utilized for gardening purposes in the school premises. We have also circulated our first batch of organic manure obtained along withthe leachate to the parents in the annual science exhibition at our school. Billabong High International School, Noida is the first school in Delhi/NCR region to get equipped with the Aerobin waste management facility.

  7. ENERGY MANAGEMENT We, at Billabong High School Noida, truly believe in developing a green and sustainable school campus. Keeping in mind our motto, we have successfully been able to develop an energy efficient school campus which is running on a 200 kV solar panel grid. The school completely runs on solar energy during the winter season and has cut down the dependency on fossil fuels to a great extent. The school is equipped with approximately 70 solar panels to meet the electricity requirements. Solar energy is a renewable source of energy so it helps in minimising the ill effects of air pollution and global warming. SOLAR PANELS EQUIPPED IN SCHOOL

  8. ENERGYMANAGEMENT The appliances (fans and internal lighting) installed in the building are minimum BEE 3 star rated. We here use LED for the minimal voltage consumption. 60% of the total annual energy consumption is offset through installation ofrenewable energy sources onsite. Passive Design Measures: The infrastructure of the school is designed in such a manner that all the classrooms and corridors are well lit. Also HVAC used in all the classrooms are minimum BEE 3 star rated and LED lights are used in the school for minimal voltage consumption. To reduce Carbon dioxide emissions from Transport to-and fro from school premises, CNG buses are used. After every 6 months service of the vehicles are done to ensure the smooth running. Also, after every 3 months pollution check for the buses isdone.

  10. INTEGRATED WATERMANAGEMENT WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT As a part of proper water resource management, our school has also installed three rainwater recharge pits with a capacity of 30000 L. The rainwater gradually seeps down the surface and helps in the recharging and replenishment of the groundwater resources. As a whole, we at BHIS, Noida pledge towards making our environment a better, cleaner and healthier place to live in.
