  1. Genetics Cross Words

  2. Dominant alleles these are given capital letters and will show up even when only one is present, e.g. a person with a T and a t can roll their tongue. Recessive (hidden) alleles only show up when two of them are present, e.g. a tt person can t roll their tongue.

  3. Genotype says what alleles an individual has for a certain characteristic. E.g. TT, Tt or tt Phenotype the appearance of an individual, or the effect caused by their genes, e.g. blue eyes, tongue roller, attached earlobes.

  4. Homozygous having two alleles the same, e.g. the TT genotype is homozygous dominant, while tt is homozygous recessive. Heterozygous having two different alleles of a gene, e.g. Tt.
