Choosing Abstracts Criteria Papers and abstracts will be ranked according to the following criteria: A) Application to conservation practice (Practicality of application? Who can use the results of this work?) B) Technical merit (Are the conclusions of the paper/poster valid? Does it reach a conclusion? Does it have a practical experience?) C) Relevance to Study Group aims/triennial program D) Logical structure, good argumentation and clear writing style (This relates to organisation of content, not to author s proficiency in the English language.) E) Demonstration of Collaboration between cases topics and content(science, history, for ex. Connection between SG2.1 and SG 2.2 topic) or of public engagement F) Originality and innovation of the work presented (Does it advance the field? Has this work been published before in substantially the same form?) A Sustainable Future Powered by Gas
Road Map for our work 2018 Autumn Deauville, France: Kick-off study groups, report structures developed, responsibilities and tasks distributed to team members. Kick-off, structure developed, responsibilities and tasks distributed. 2019 Spring Abu Dhabi: Collection of entries, check of tasks fulfilment, data analysis, distribution of further tasks Responsible for study cases present the study case, maximum 20 minutes per case. Conclude on study cases to take further. 2019 Autumn, Korea: Completion of entries, check of task s fulfilment, setup for chapters final composition. Start discussions regarding main message including summary/conclusions. 2020 Spring, Italy: Study case selection for the final report(first draft). Completed table for the II and TIS(for discussion). 2020 Autumn Norway: Determine a method to choose abstracts from the call of papers. All Study Cases have to be ready at this point. 2021 Spring China: Final draft of the Report from SG2. Presentation of the latest Study Cases. Introduction for the chapters should be written. Organisation of TIS an II. 2021 WGC Deagu, Korea: A Sustainable Future Powered by Gas
Waste heat-to-power through ORC technology: reduce CO2 emissions for a more sustainable gas TOPIC DISCUSSED The implementation of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology to exploit waste heat from gas compressor stations in order to produce useful power, electricity. OUTCOMES The electricity produced valorizing the waste heat can be either delivered to the gird (reference case analyzed) or used to empower the compressor station structure with a combination of electrical motor driven and gas turbines driven compressors. In both cases relevant environmental results are achieved reducing the ton of CO2 emitted for Bm3 of gas transported ADVOCANCY SENTENCE Enhanced natural gas transmission efficiency, in synergy with the electricity sector, marks the path for more sustainable energy networks A Sustainable Future Powered by Gas
Biomethane: The Italian way TOPIC DISCUSSED The implementation in Italy of a set of rules and incentives to regulate and stimulate the use of Biomethane in the transport sector with CNG and LNG Vehicles. OUTCOMES With the new scheme of rules gas retailers are obliged to include Biomethane in their offer. The introduction of Certificates for minimum income for production create incentives for the producers to upgrade from Biogas to Biomethane. ADVOCANCY SENTENCE Biomethane can significantly contribute to the achievement of decarbonisation objectives in all sectors: from transportation, to heating and cooling, to electricity generation up to industrial uses A Sustainable Future Powered by Gas
Biomethane can significantly contribute to the achievement of decarbonisation objectives in all sectors: from transportation, to heating and cooling, to electricity generation up to industrial uses Advantages of Biomethane CNG Veichles fueled by Biomethane A clear set of rules and incentives has been put in place to stimulate the growth of sustainable transportation based on Biomethane A Sustainable Future Powered by Gas
CHINAS NATURAL GAS INDUSTRY AND INTERCONNECTION OF PIPELINE NETWORKS TOPIC DISCUSSED A brief introduction of development of China s natural gas industry and challenges. In order to meet the rapid increase of gas demand and solve insufficient peak regulation capacity, interconnection existing gas pipelines and relevant facilities has been put forward and implemented. Some pilot projects were presented. OUTCOMES The bottlenecks of gas transmission were break through and the efficiency of the transmission systems were enhanced. One integrity transmission network is taking shape. Gas shortage and insufficient peak regulation capacity in some region of China were alleviated significantly. ADVOCANCY SENTENCE As an effective solution, interconnection projects shall be facilitated to apply widely. A Sustainable Future Powered by Gas
