Today Well Assume That All Toblerones Have 12 Peaks You ll need 24 blocks for the 2nd problem today.
Review mental math How many peaks are there in 1/4 of a Toblerone bar? Whisper to a partner. How many peaks are there in 1/6 of a Toblerone bar? Whisper to a partner.
Good Job! You ll need the 24 blocks for the next exercise. Arrange them in 2 trains of 12:
Question: Can we fit 14 peaks in a 12-peak Toblerone box?
Ms J. buys TWO Toblerone bars. Each one has 12 peaks. But she s gotten so hungry that on the way home, she EATS 8 peaks! How many peaks does she have when she gets home? Be ready to show me your blocks. What fraction of a Toblerone does she have when she gets home? Talk to a partner. Be ready to defend your answers.

The next day, Ms. J buys TWO 12-peak Toblerones, and eats 1/3 of one Toblerone on the way home. When she gets home, she shares the remainder equally among her FOUR children. What fraction of a Toblerone does each child receive? Talk to a partner. Be ready to defend your answers. Use your blocks if it helps.
