  2. FACTOID Hummingbirds are found only in the Americas, from southern Alaska to Argentina. Their powerful wings allow them to fly forwards, backwards, upside down, and quickly change directions. They hover when feeding, remaining almost motionless in the air.

  3. Some hummingbirds can beat their wings more than 80 times per second! Directions: Research the number of wingbeats per second for hummingbirds, other birds, and insects found in the United States. (at least 4 birds or insects) Calculate the number of times each of these animals and insects beat their wings in 1 minute, and then in 1 hour Present your findings in a table.
