  2. Transcendentalism Transcendentalism is not just a movement that took during the 1800s. It has left lasting effects on the world and how we live life today. We will be looking at other examples of how the ideas of Transcendentalism are related to modern day society.

Transcendentalism In your groups, think of a modern day example for THREE of five following aspects of Transcendentalism Non-conformity Importance of nature Self-Reliance Civil Disobedience Simplified Life List the example and write a brief (2+ sentence) description on how your modern day example is representative of that aspect of Transcendentalism.

  4. Example Non-Conformity: Lady Gaga Lady Gaga represents non-conformity because she does not try to fit society s mold of what a typical pop-star should be. With her style and the content of her songs, she truly is not afraid to express herself and her ideals.
