Feeling my way through the darkness, guided by a beating heart
"He drove the man out and stationed the cherubim and the flaming, whirling sword east of the garden of Eden to guard the way to the tree of life. Genesis 3:24
Moses went up the mountain to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain: This is what you must say to the house of Jacob and explain to the Israelites: You have seen what I did to the Egyptians and how I carried you on eagles wings and brought you to myself. Now if you will carefully listen to me and keep my covenant, you will be my own possession out of all the peoples, although the whole earth is mine, and you will be my kingdom of priests and my holy nation. These are the words that you are to say to the Israelites. Exodus 19:3
These serve as a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was warned when he was about to complete the tabernacle. For God said, Be careful that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain. Hebrews 8:5
When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him, Come, make gods for us who will go before us because this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt we don t know what has happened to him! 2 Aaron replied to them, Take off the gold rings that are on the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters and bring them to me. 3 So all the people took off the gold rings that were on their ears and brought them to Aaron. 4 He took the gold from them, fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it into an image of a calf. Exodus 32
Then they said, Israel, these are your gods, who brought you up from the land of Egypt! 5 When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of it and made an announcement: There will be a festival to the Lord tomorrow. 6 Early the next morning they arose, offered burnt offerings, and presented fellowship offerings. The people sat down to eat and drink, and got up to party.
Israel these are your gods who brought you up from the land of Egypt.
7 The Lord spoke to Moses: Go down at once! For your people you brought up from the land of Egypt have acted corruptly. 8 They have quickly turned from the way I commanded them; they have made for themselves an image of a calf. They have bowed down to it, sacrificed to it, and said, Israel, these are your gods, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. 9 The Lord also said to Moses, I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked people. 10 Now leave me alone, so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.
11 But Moses sought the favor of the Lord his God: Lord, why does your anger burn against your people you brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a strong hand? 12 Why should the Egyptians say, He brought them out with an evil intent to kill them in the mountains and eliminate them from the face of the earth ? Turn from your fierce anger and relent concerning this disaster planned for your people. 13 Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Israel you swore to them by yourself and declared, I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and will give your offspring all this land that I have promised, and they will inherit it forever. 14 So the Lord relented concerning the disaster he had said he would bring on his people.
21 Then Moses asked Aaron, What did these people do to you that you have led them into such a grave sin? 22 Don t be enraged, my lord, Aaron replied. You yourself know that the people are intent on evil. 23 They said to me, Make gods for us who will go before us because this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt we don t know what has happened to him! 24 So I said to them, Whoever has gold, take it off, and they gave it to me. When I threw it into the fire, out came this calf!
25 Moses saw that the people were out of control, for Aaron had let them get out of control, making them a laughingstock to their enemies.
The Levites did as Moses commanded, and about three thousand men fell dead that day among the people.
30 The following day Moses said to the people, You have committed a grave sin. Now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I will be able to atone for your sin. 31 So Moses returned to the Lord and said, Oh, these people have committed a grave sin; they have made a god of gold for themselves. 32 Now if you would only forgive their sin. But if not, please erase me from the book you have written.
The Word became flesh and dwelt (tabernacled) among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
So the Jews replied to him, What sign will you show us for doing these things? Jesus answered, Destroy this temple,, and I will raise it up in three days. Therefore the Jews said, This temple took forty-six years to build, and will you raise it up in three days? But he was speaking about the temple of his body. So when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the statement Jesus had made. John 2
"I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel. Genesis 3:15
Gods Plan for the World God s Plan for a People God s plan for people
Foundation hopes Furniture hopes We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19
Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. John 14:21
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood,, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises, of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light 1 Peter 2
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10
Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the everlasting covenant, equip you with everything good to do his will, working in us what is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever., Amen. Hebrews 13
