Crystal FitzSimons, Director of School and Out-of-School Program, discusses meeting families' nutritional needs amidst the pandemic through federal nutrition programs like school meals, summer nutrition programs, and Pandemic EBT. The initiative aims to provide essential resources to families, especially children eligible for free or reduced-price school meals, to combat food insecurity during these challenging times. Several state plans have been submitted and approved to offer benefits, including in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, and Rhode Island.
