Enhancing Livelihoods through FO4ACP Programme
Farmers Organizations for Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (FO4ACP) aims to uplift smallholders and family farmers in various countries by strengthening regional, national, and local farmers organizations. The program components include economic service provision, capacity building, policy influence, and knowledge sharing. Funded by IFAD, AgriCord, and the EU, the program covers countries like Senegal, Kenya, Tanzania, and more, with a total budget of EUR 7.68 million. Implementation period spans from October 2019 to March 2024.

SUMMARY FO4ACP PROJECT The Farmers Organizations for Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (FO4ACP) programme aims to increase the incomes and improve the livelihoods, food and nutrition security, and safety of organized smallholders and family farmers in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries by strengthening regional, national and local farmers organizations.
The programme is implemented by six regional farmers organizations, PAFO, Agricord, and the FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Countries of implementation Senegal, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Burundi, Malawi, Benin, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda
Project components 1.Enabling FOs to provide economic services to members to improve their access to market and finance and increase members production and value addition. 2.Support Fos institutional development through capacity building and helping finance Fos core costs.
3.Improve Fos capacity to influence policy dialogue and the governance mechanisms of value chains. 4.Promoting knowledge sharing and peer learning in areas of production, processing and marketing .

Value chain supported This program in Rwanda focuses on cassava value chain developed by INGABO farmers Syndicate and potatoes developed by IMBARAGA.
