Spiritual Life How is your spiritual life? How is your unspiritual life? This second question - A sense of unease How about other parts of your life? How to take faith into real lives? Assumed Do we have an other or real life?
1. God is Present An Olympic athlete Only one life Resting, sleeping, all a part Christian life is not entirely like being an athlete It s not so regimented But cannot be split into spiritual and unspiritual That s just the way it is!
1. God is Present Ps 139 God is part of everything, everywhere How do I live aware of God s presence? FIRST STEP Realize he is there! Don t have to do something to make him present
2. An Expanded Definition What makes something spiritual ? Think If it has a direct link to God Psalmist (David) says in everything Paul in HIM we live, move, have our being (Col 3:11) There is no unspiritual part of our lives Unbiblical to separate our lives into parts Demands of life no longer enemy of faith
3. Re-Sacralizing Life World has relegated spiritual to the margin Opening sermon what is it we are taking? Perspective Live as if God exists Lifestyle Put off, put on Disposition - peace

Living It Things to do: Daily devotion (Quiet time) Moments of ministry Know our story (live in the church calendar) The whole story Genesis to Revelation E.g. Abraham & Sarah, David Make use of the prayers of the saints Jesus gave us the Lord s prayer The Prayer of St Francis of Assisi
