Electronic management, such as E-management and EHR, plays a crucial role in nursing education. It involves utilizing technology to improve governing processes, maintain electronic records, and achieve healthcare objectives. The American Health Information Management Association emphasizes capturing data at the point of care, integrating information from various sources, and supporting caregiver decision-making. E-health harnesses IT to enhance the delivery of health information and services while promoting efficient resource utilization. Critical thinking is essential in directing and enhancing intellectual thought processes.

  1. University of Basrah College of Nursing Management &Leadership in Nursing Electronic Management Lecture seven Prepared by assist lect. Noor salah shreaf

  2. Electronic Management E-Management, like E-business refers to the electronic management using technology to improve and facilitate the governing process besides maintaining electronic records for the best performance and results of the work flow integration of information. E-Management is about accomplishing the governmental goals and objectives through getting people linked together.

  3. Electronic Health Records EHR define as: A patient record system is a type of clinical information system, which is dedicated to collecting, storing, manipulating, and making available clinical information important to the delivery of patient care. The central focus of such systems is clinical data and not financial or billing information.

  4. The American Health Information Management Association defines three essential capabilities of an EHR: 1. To capture data at the point of care. 2. To integrate data from multiple internal and external sources, and 3. To support caregiver decision making.

  5. It encompasses main areas: The delivery of health information, for health professionals and health consumers, through the Internet and telecommunications. Using the power of IT and e-commerce to improve public health services, e.g. through the education and training of health workers. The use of e-commerce and e-business practices in health systems management.

  6. E-health provides a new method for using health resources - such as information, money, and medicines ,and in time should help to improve efficient use of these resources. The Internet also provides a new medium for information dissemination, and for interaction and collaboration among institutions, health professionals, health providers and the public.

  7. CRITICAL THINKING Critical thinking is a complicated process that involves skillfully directing the thinking process and imposing intellectual standards on the elements of thought. A more formal definition is as follows: the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action

  8. Critical thinking in nursing includes adherence to intellectual standards, proficiency in using reasoning, a commitment to develop and maintain intellectual traits of the mind and habits of thought and the competent use of thinking skills and abilities for sound clinical judgments and safe decision-making.

  9. Elements of and Cognitive Skills for Critical Thinking:- 1. The problem, question, concern, or issue being thought about by the thinker (i.e., what the thinker is attempting to figure out) 2.The purpose or goal of the thinking (i.e., what does the thinker hope to accomplish?) 3. The frame of reference, point of view, or worldview the thinker holds about the issue or problem 4. The assumptions the thinker holds true about the issue or problem 5. The central concepts, ideas, principles, and theories the thinker uses in reasoning about the issue or problem.

  10. Modeling Critical Thinking Nurses use critical thinking continually while caring for patients, coordinating care, collaborating with others, advocating for patients, problem solving, resolving issues, and ensuring that safe and quality patient care is provided. leaders and managers play a pivotal role in helping staff members enhance their critical thinking skills .A major function of nurse leaders and managers is to be a role model for staff by being critical thinkers themselves.
