Understands relevant procedures and processes for performing check-in for defendants being tested. Knows relevant systems and processes for reviewing and correcting information on release conditions. Understands and applies correct procedures and protocols for escorting and observing defendants being tested. Enters authorized defendant information and medications into the appropriate systems following established unit policies and procedures. Applies proper chain-of-custody procedures and in-unit collection procedures when handling samples. Does Not Meet Expectations Knowledge of Drug Testing and Compliance unit structure and operations is limited such that employee has some difficulty performing basic functions and responsibilities. Meets Expectations Exceeds Expectations Shows strong knowledge of the Drug Testing and Compliance unit structure and operations to complete responsibilities, follow all regulations and guidelines, and obtain all needed information from others in complex or atypical situations. Is able to handle check-ins for unusual cases or situations following all procedures and protocols, with high levels of accuracy; proactively identifies situations that could present problems in applying proper procedures and protocol for processing defendants. Is able to apply and utilize relevant systems and procedures accurately for both standard and unusual defendant cases. Follows proper protocol for escorting and observing defendants being tested, and correctly applies procedures for collecting samples in all cases, handling unusual situations with ease. Understands and uses manual system for data entry with minimal errors for both usual and atypical situations and cases. Proactively researches policies and procedures within the Juvenile/Family Court system to stay updated on changes, new terminology, determine the right course of action for a situation, or keep others informed. Defendant profiles and case processing are completed in a consistently timely and high quality manner with minimal mistakes; spots errors in defendant s case processing and profiles and takes appropriate actions. Utilizes sufficient knowledge of the Juvenile/Family Court system to locate and obtain information and to process respondents with only occasional errors or mistakes. Makes some mistakes when releasing information indicating lack of sufficient knowledge of rules and regulations regarding release of information. Knows and applies the rules regarding confidentiality and the release of information; e.g., rules regarding what can and cannot be said. Displays an understanding of federal, state, district, and agency policies, regulations, and laws regarding the safekeeping and release of the Agency s information (e.g., personally identifiable information (PII), FOIA, treatment information, mental health information, etc.). Understands and follows federal records management laws. Possesses detailed knowledge of Treatment Program operations such as the criteria for eligibility into each Treatment unit; recommends appropriate placements in complex or atypical cases; serves as a resource for others who have questions about the Treatment Program. Fundamental Knowledge of HISP Program Understands the functions of the HISP program and eligibility criteria for placing defendants. Fails to understand basic functions and eligibility criteria needed to answer questions and/or make appropriate recommendations. Knows more complex aspects of HISP monitoring such as intricacies and limitations of specific monitoring equipment, analysis of monitoring data, or appropriate monitoring applications in atypical or high profile cases. Has a detailed understanding of typical and unique aspects of the types of supervision or operations of the Supervision unit; serves as a resource to help others answer questions about Supervision at times.
