Drama NATIONAL COURSE INFORMATION
Drama - National Course: What will I learn? - You will develop your knowledge on devising and the drama process - You will learn and develop drama skills; voice, movement, characterisation techniques - You will work with others to develop group work skills, stagecraft and performance skills - You will learn and develop knowledge on production skills; lighting, sound, set design, props costume and make-up - You will learn to evaluate your work and the work of others
Drama - National Course: What skills will I develop? There are many skills you will learn during your time in Drama: - - GROUP WORK SKILLS GROUP WORK SKILLS: effective communication, listening, problem solving, decision-making, co- operating, negotiating - PRESENTATION SKILLS PRESENTATION SKILLS: using your voice to communicate effectively, understanding your audience, selecting relevant information to make your point, answering questions effectively - PERSONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS PERSONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS: building your confidence, self-awareness, responsibility, accountability, resilience, meeting deadlines, time-keeping
Drama - National Course: Future Pathways Drama can be studied beyond school at both College and University. Some courses are theoretical and others are more practical. Some focus on performance, exploring the world of acting and theatre practitioners whilst other courses explore various production skills linked to the work of directors, designers and theatre technicians. Here are some Scottish education establishments offering courses in Drama/Theatre Studies: - University of Glasgow - University of the West of Scotland - Queen Margaret University - City of Glasgow College - Kelvin College - Glasgow Clyde College - New College Lanarkshire - RCS (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland)
