ACCOMPLISHMENTS Completed New employee survey Propose new employee/long-term employee social mixers 2x/year Updated Community Resource Link with collaboration with AIC Discussed including inclusivity career development within performance evaluations Implemented idea for Inclusivity Career Development Training: Three programs completed and plans for 2014/2015 in progress

  5. ACCOMPLISHMENTS Defined Multicultural/Diversity Reviewed guidelines of Lawton Scholarship Reviewed Campus employment research; Equity Scorecard and TOSS study results; data on students turnover; CRM capabilities

NEXT STEPS Easier to locate Scholarship website and more consumer friendly Discussed new Fellowship to provide more support for students who qualify Reviewed scholarships including new scholarship/ Clarified special circumstances that challenge diverse students tenure and GPA at UWGB and set strategies for improving retention, including data collection

MORE NEXT STEPS Send letters to students about Lawton Grants and have one contact person Hire additional full-time counselor in Counseling and Health Services Develop additional student employment opportunities Increase scholarships Research best practices for working with multicultural student families and recruitment and retention

BEST PRACTICES FOR DIVERSE CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE Members: Regan Gurung; Kristin Vespia; Denise Bartell; JP Lear; Lis Poupart; Juliet Cole; Illeene Cupit; Brent Blahnik; Danielle Washington; Kinyada Watts; Diana Schreck; Grace Vecchie; Mai Kou Lor; Lynn Neimi; Jennifer Lanter; Brian Wardle, Gail Trimberger; Jolanda Sallmann; Scott Furlong; Stacie Christian

ACCOMPLISHMENTS Inclusivity needs to be a bigger part and more visible of what we do at UWGB by: Including diverse classroom climate training for new faculty (CATL) Roll out FUSION model (FNS and SWK) to more departments on campus Faculty show evidence of how they maintain safe class rooms and reward this in merit and promotion documents

MORE ACCOMPLISHMENTS Create online/short quiz to be used for department meetings assessing diversity knowledge Develop Inclusivity Booster Sessions More conversations and cultural stories visible on campus Increase multicultural artwork on campus Have Residence life programming on culture so students lacking diversity are prepared for classroom

  11. MORE ACCOMPLISHMENTS Worked collaboratively with American Intercultural Center to provide students with opportunity to complete current classroom climate survey. Over 900 students completed this survey

  12. QUESTIONS? How can student easier report micro- aggressions in the classroom? How can we urge faculty and staff in general to go to cultural programming? How can we best build skills to educate on diversity and strengthen teaching fundamentals?

  13. BEST PRACTICES FOR DIVERSE STUDENT ACADEMIC ADVISING COMMITTEE Members: Tori Nelson, Heidi Sherman, Heba Mohammad, Phil Topping, Michael Casbourne, Nora Kanzenback, Mary Simonson, Stacie Christian

  14. ACCOMPLISHMENTS Procedures reviewed for academic Advising Reviewed academic research for best practices Determined need for training and development and collaboration between departments Discussion of protocol to accomplish above

  15. LEADERSHIP/MENTOR COMMITTEE Members: Stacie Christian, Brenda Amenson-Hill, Joanie Dovekas, Tori Nelson, Aldofo Garcia, Kim Desotell

  16. TEAM DISCUSSION Had initial meeting, determined students, faculty and staff are interested in this opportunity. Further discussion indicated that due to time constraints due to other committee work, this committee work would be tabled to 2014-2015 timeframe

  17. GOAL SETTING OBJECTIVE AND REVIEW COMMITTEE Members: Alison Gates; other members being selected at this point of time

  18. ACCOMPLISHMENTS In progress: will review subcommittee work and provide summary evaluation in May

  19. WHAT IS NEXT? Professional Development three level certificate program advisory committee is being formed. Stacie Christian to lead this committee. Committee will set protocol and topics for 2014-2015. Continue collaboration with St. Norbert College, Green Bay School District Equity program, and NWTC SUN committee concerning inclusivity and equity initiatives

  20. FINAL MEETING WITH CHANCELLOR HARDEN Final summation meeting scheduled with Chancellor Harden on July 1, 2014 Tentatively, first meeting with Chancellor Miller will be in August, 2014
