  2. They use a series of productive questions to help them write specific detail. These are some productive questions an author would use to describe a character: What kind/color eyes? What size? What kind/color hair? What was he/she wearing?

  3. Read this segment and in the text box, type the productive questions you think the author used? Here are a few to get you started: What did he wear on his head? What kind of coat did he have? Type your questions here:

  4. CHALLENGE: Think about a character from you your favorite book. Write an elaborative detail segment describing the character.
