Delaware Addiction Action Committee (AAC) is a collaborative effort aiming to address the addiction epidemic in Delaware by coordinating a comprehensive approach involving communities, providers, advocates, and governmental agencies. The committee, led by Co-Chairs Rebecca Walker, PhD, JD, MSN, DPH, and Joanna Champney, MA, DSAMH, focuses on monitoring addiction treatment services, opioid prescribing patterns, and forming subcommittees to tackle the crisis effectively. Quarterly meetings are scheduled for 2024 to solidify strategies and enhance community engagement.

Mission The Addiction Action Committee will foster collaboration amongst communities, providers, advocates, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and monitor a coordinated and comprehensive approach to Delaware s addiction epidemic. - Title 16, Ch. 51, Subchapter IX; Delaware Code Online

The AAC has been Refreshed & Relaunched The first meeting included a review of the number of licensed providers able to offer addiction treatment and a review of Opiate Prescribing Patterns Current priorities are: To solidify subcommittees Select committee co-chairs before the 2024 AAC Meetings The AAC will meet quarterly. The 2024 dates (location TBD) are: January 10th, 2024 (3-5 PM ET) April 10, 2024 (3-5 PM ET) July 10, 2024 (3-5 PM ET) Oct. 9, 2024 (3-5 PM ET) To be added to the distribution list for meetings, contact Nehath Sheriff at nsheriff@healthmanagement.com
