Crofton Parish Adult Worship and Discipleship Report

Within Crofton Parish, nine congregations gather for various weekly, fortnightly, and monthly worship services, along with vibrant discipleship activities. There are also congregational teams that meet regularly to address important matters such as teaching series, worship, and pastoral care vision. Additionally, housegroups play a significant role in fostering community and spiritual growth with a considerable membership. The report highlights the commitment to discipleship through following the Anglican lectionary and providing a strong link to the wider Anglican Communion.

APCM Report ADULTS Worship Services Nine congregations continue to meet within Crofton Parish Weekly Services 1) Morning Service 9.30am Holy Rood (Communion once a month) 2) Evening Service Sunday 6.30pm, except 1stSunday. (Communion once a month) 3) St Edmunds 8am or 9.30am (Communion every other week) 4) Thursday 10:30 Service Midweek communion service, once a month Mother s Union theme

APCM Report ADULTS Worship Services Nine congregations continue to meet within Crofton Parish Monthly Services 6) Causeway 1stSunday with special provision for those with learning difficulties 7) Pastorate 1stWednesday Teaching service, (supported by weekly social meetings) 8) Ignite Gathering Saturday youth service. 9) Messy Church 2ndWednesday, whole family: craft teaching, celebration, meal.

APCM Report ADULTS Congregational teams Meet regularly (3-4 times a year) For all of the nine congregations, apart from the Thursday 10:30 Service. Consider issues such as teaching series, worship pastoral care vision.

APCM Report ADULTS Pastoral Care The Bereavement Team Co-ordinated by Sandy and Valerie Wright The team meet regularly. Rev. Sally Davenport come and speak to the group. The Annual Memorial Service Held in October 2015. Beryl Stares led the service and Rev. Sally Davenport preached The service was very well-attended, many of whom have been attending for many years.

APCM Report ADULTS Pastoral Care Cup of Tea and Company Mel and Margaret Mason continue to lead supported by Beryl Stares and Colin Prestidge. The Crofton Mother s Union Celebrated their 124thanniversary in 2015 MU continues to develop with Anne Bebbington as MU president.

APCM Report ADULTS Pastoral Care Home Communion The team visit care homes and private homes Good Companions Organised by Val Wadham (come to an end in 2016) The Sunday Lunch Club, Twice a month after 11:10 service, Haly Catering. This mission initiative would benefit from a champion

APCM Report ADULTS Pastoral Care The Sunday Tea Circle Meet every 3rdSunday of the month Run my Joyce Howe The ASK Team Provide vital help to those who need that little extra hand, Molly Howard co-ordinate stheASK Team.

APCM Report ADULTS Evangelism and Mission Alpha course Autumn term of 2015, Mix of attendees from Holy Rood and St Edmunds. The course was run in a caf style ,. This Alpha group will move onto a Christianity Explored course in 2016.

APCM Report ADULTS Evangelism and Mission Events The following activities took place within Crofton Parish and had a clear mission dimension: Village Remembrance Day service Carol singing at Crofton pub Live Nativity at Holy Rood Sunday afternoon services given by home group members to residents at various care and nursing homes

APCM Report ADULTS Evangelism and Mission Events Holy Rood Christmas lunch for those which otherwise might be on their own on Christmas Day Providing drinks to runners after the Stubbington 10K race. FOCOC events such as barn dances, games night

APCM Report ADULTS Evangelism and Mission Mission share Financially support six designated charities which are at present: 1. FFRME, (Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East) 2. Europe to Europe 3. Tearfund 4. Street Pastors 5. Compassion 6. CVM.

APCM Report ADULTS Ecumenical Relationships Stubbington Traders Association. Attend the associations monthly meeting Village Christmas celebration 2015 General Election Holy Rood hosted a Hustings Chaired by PCC member, John Guest.

APCM Report ADULTS Fareham Deanery Clergy from Crofton Parish attend Chapter meetings Clergy from Crofton Parish attend the yearly deanery retreat Clergy & PPC reps from Crofton Parish attend Deanery Synod review the Deanery Ministry Plan discuss matters at a Diocesan and national level. As a parish we commit to the deanery covenant, signed at the yearly Archdeaconry Visitation Include the Deanery weekly cycle of prayer in intercessions
