THE BRAS
The Brassiere
Women have
been wearing
breast
supportive
undergarments
since as long ago
as the Grecian
Era, (pictured

called
Mastodesmos
meaning
“breast-band”.
The French term
“brassiere” was
first introduced in
the late 1800’s
and shortened to
“bra” in the
1930’s.
The first U.S.
patent for a
brassiere was
issued to Mary
Phelps Jacob in
1914.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Care and Maintenance
Each breast form will have its own care
instructions; you should include this with your
patient education materials upon delivery.
Generally, wash in lukewarm water with mild
soap, rinse thoroughly, and air dry in its
container to maintain shape.
Adhesive back forms may require special
cleansers.
Do not twist, ring out, or put in the dryer.
WARRANTY
Warranties
Most warranties are for two years.
Most companies have a warranty card you
must fill out at the time of delivery.
Swim Forms generally have a shorter warranty
due to pool chemical exposure.
