Kingdom of Morocco Ministry delegate in charge of Water Morocco s commitment for the implementation of the MDGs ans SDGs Anticipatory awareness Construction of 140 large dams with a capacity of 17.6 Billion m3and 12 large dams under construction with capacity of 2.6 Billion m3; Developing of 13 transfer systems, wells and drillings for the groundwater resources use; Construction the seawater desalination plants (10 Mm3/year); Contributing to Energy porduction; Flood protection and control ; National Sanitation Plan NSP implemented in 2006; National Rural Sanitation Plan NRSP launched in 2015. Main Axes of the National Water Plan Programme of Water saving in Irrigation 60% of the total surface will be equipped in 2030 National Agriculture Plan (Plan Maroc Vert) 1 2 Water demand management and water valuation Supply management and development Development of renewable energy 42% installed capacity in 2020 National Energy Strategy National Water Plan 3 Preservation and protection of water resources and natural environment and adaptation to climate change National Tourism Strategy Vision 2020 Wastewater reuse Watering of green spaces 40% reuse expected in 2030 (irrigation included) Regulatory, institutional, organizational and financial reforms 4
