Coastal Erosion Threatens San Clemente State Beach
San Clemente State Beach is facing imminent danger due to coastal erosion, with a significant portion of the beach at risk. Drone footage captured the erosion, showing the lack of sand in front of concrete cubes meant to protect the area. The beach is armored for 3500 feet, but the immediate danger zone spans 500 feet with no berm on the left side. The pedestrian underpass is also affected. View images for a visual representation of the erosion issue.
