The challenges faced by the National Food and Nutrition Commission of Zambia in utilizing the Multisectoral Nutrition Information System include limited funds for internet connectivity, high staff turnover, and low reporting rates. Recommendations to address these challenges include encouraging budgeting for internet charges, assigning multiple monitoring and evaluation focal points, and digitizing reporting tools at subdistrict levels.

CHALLENGES AND RECOMMENDATIONS CHALLENGES WHAT WE ARE DOING Limited Funds to Support internet connectivity (Bundles) Encourage line ministries to include a budget line for internet charges (Bundles) in their annual work plans High staff turnover within the sectors Encourage the sectors to attach more than one M&E focal point persons Low reporting rates by sectors Sector Heads of Departments (HODs) are engaged in the quarterly data review meetings Digitalizing the reporting tools at Subdistrict and Community level Engage sector to budget for gadgets i.e. Smart phones, tablets so that the team can entering data using the online system 3
