Mr. Stewart’s Top Tips and Tricks

Annotate!
Unlike most of your HS
textbooks, your test packet is
YOURS
! Mark it up. Underline.
Takes notes in the margins.
Cross out wrong answers.

Eliminate Three
Find a reason to eliminate the
three worst answers; cross
them out and don’t waste
time on them. There is only
one correct/best answer.

Predict
Predict the correct answer
before reading the possible
answers.

Time
Keep an eye on the clock or
bring your own watch. Time
will get away from you if you
get “stuck” in a passage. Keep
            moving forward in this
            section!

Read the Intro
People often skip the
introduction to each passage,
but that context/background
information can help you
understand what to expect.

Strategy
Have a strategy on test day!
You wouldn’t just show up one
day for a ___ball game, would
you? What’s the game plan?
Repeated practice will help.
