Train staff to provide appropriate guidance to registrants 7. Ensuring Public Safety Plan 1. Initiate contact with Ministry; request meeting to discuss exemptions Strategize plan based on spring provincial election platform and results Keep informed on changes to legislation and be prepared to respond to registrants as appropriate (ex. develop guidance documents) Consult with other (social work) regulatory bodies re: effective strategies for government engagement and inter-jurisdictional practice Ensuring Public Safety - Ensuring timely response to emerging issues - Working with government- removal exemptions 2. 3. 4.
Strengthening College Capacity Plan 1. Revise policy manual for board approval 2. Create or revise orientation for various committees 3. Communicate education opportunities to board and staff 4. Revise new staff s contracts to ensure they are legally sound 5. Develop preliminary plan for organizational needs if exemptions were to be removed 6. Create new staff position and re-assign existing tasks in new staff structure 7. Reconciliation Plan 1. Support TDRR sessions 2. Take appropriate action based on feedback heard from TDRR sessions (ex. add demographics to application and renewals, increase visual presence of Indigenous social workers) 3. Sign declaration of commitment with BCHR and FNHA 4. Ensure all staff and board members receive cultural safety training 5. Attend and participate in BCASW indigenous advisory group meetings 6.
