  1. Swallowing Stones Journal Taylor King

  2. Prologue: Compare Michael and Jenna Use the following link to create a Venn diagram comparing Michael and Jenna in the prologue of our novel. Venn Diagram Maker Once you have finished, screenshot it, and insert it onto this page. You may cover up your instructions. Make sure you save your diagram on the website, we will be adding to it later.

  3. Michael: Chp 1 Compare Michael at the beginning of this chapter to Michael at the end of the chapter. Michael at the beginning was enjoying himself it was his birthday and he was partying with all of his friends and family. At the end of the story he was nervous and anxious when on the radio said a man has been killed mysteriously, and he knows it was him.

  4. Jenna: Chp. 2 Revisit you Venn diagram from slide 1. Add more information to it. Have Jenna and Michael grown more alike or more different? Insert your new diagram here. To me they are more different because Jenna likes to help with her dad and just help and be the assistant. But on the other hand Michael is wanting to be with with his friends.

  5. Michael: Chps. 3-5 Michael s dad says, That s what happens when irresponsible people play around with guns...That s why I ve taught my boys to respect guns. How is this an example of dramatic irony? It is dramatic irony because Michael has actually killed someone over that topic. And the sad part is his dad does not even know.

  6. Jenna: Chps. 6-8 What is Jenna doing to cope with the situation? Why is she doing this? The way Jenna is coping with all of that is se has her room spotless all the time in a orderly fashion. With everything in their place. Another thing is she is doing Math. She is doing these thing because they don t have a middle they are both you get the answer or you don t and it s spotless or it s not.

  7. Michael: Chps. 9-12 How have Michael s actions affected the people in his life (mom, dad, Joe, Darcy, Amy)? What does this tell us about our own actions? He lies to everyone and is always on edge. Darcey thought that he was cheating on her and that cause her to lie to Amy about Michael. Now he has no safe place to go. On the other hand Joe knows everything in Michael's life right now and he is also lying for him too. It tells us that if you just tell the truth the first time you won t get in as much trouble as for trying to lie and get away with it. But you will still get in a lot of trouble.

  8. Jenna: Chps. 13-15 How does Amy represent peace to both Michael and Jenna? In Michale that is his safe place that is where he could not think about being caught or anything that has to do with Jenna and her family. And Amy and Jenna both have something in common. Both of Amy s parents died in a car accident and Jenna s dad is no longer alive from an accidental shooting that came from Michael s gun. So they can relate a lot then a regular person feeling bad for another person.

  9. Michael: Chps. 16-18 What is the underlying reason for Joe attacking Amy s car so violently? He was drunk and Amy stopped quickly and Michael accidently hit Amys car and hurt Joe s Mustang. But no damage was done to Joe s car just Amy s windshield.

  10. Jenna: Chps. 19-20 Retell the legend of the Ghost Tree in your own words. If you go to the ghost tree and fall asleep near or on the tree you dream about you ancestors or if you just go to the tree anyway you can see your ancestors and they interact with you. That is kinda what happened to Jenna in her dream but she was not near the tree.

  11. Michael: Chps. 21-22 Why has Amy kept Michael s secret for all this time? Because she cares for him and she has seen him hurt.

  12. Jenna: Chps. 23-24 What does Jenna figure out about her feelings toward Jason since her father s death? She already knows that she is missing something in her memory and when she is around him she gets really anxious and has a panic attack. Finally she figures out that she was on the phone with him and if she just got her dad to come in for lunch and she thinks it s her fault for not listening to her mom.

  13. The Healing What is symbolic about Jenna and Michael meeting at the Ghost Tree? Because her wants to tell her and they just consequently saw each other.
