AFRISTAT, an international organization formed in 1997, plays a pivotal role in harmonizing statistical methods across its 22 member states in Africa. With a focus on capacity building, technical assistance, and data management, AFRISTAT aims to enhance economic and statistical systems for better policy-making and development outcomes.

AFRISTATs role Provide technical support for: Statistical capacity building programmes for NSS and particularly the statistical output needed to implement national policies and take into account the MDGs; Harmonisation programmes within the framework of the statistical systems of Regional Integration Communities.
