31. PREPARATION OF CHECKLISTS 1. The use of checklists is to be utilized to provide a structure to the audit that allows for consistent and standardized conduct of audits. 2. Standardized audits guarantees objectivity, impartiality, credibility and transparency. 3. Generic checklists are developed for all the relevant area of audit and are included in the Handbook. 4. However the operational details vary from one aerodrome to any other, so checklists specific to that aerodrome should be developed before audit. 9/10/2024 AERODROME INSPECTOR'S HANDBOOK 31

32. PREPARATION OF CHECKLISTS Checklists are developed/ used to remind us of the audit criteria against which we are to compare the audit evidence. In other words, we should compare evidence (statements, observations, documents, and records) to the applicable requirements (standards / practices/ regulations/ requirements). Audit checklist format: This style of audit checklist would contain: Reference (source): Document, section, and revision level Requirement (to look at): Legal, organizational, or standards Evidence (to look for): document, observation, record, or statement Notes (comments): evidence found, actual results, any concerns Auditors will develop their questions based on the requirements of the audit checklist and then compare the responses to the expected evidence. 9/10/2024 AERODROME INSPECTOR'S HANDBOOK 32
