Gal 3:6-9 ABRAM - FATHER OF MISSIONS
Introduction Missions month Abram - Less known, but very important missionary Abraham Father of Israel Father of faith Father of missions Father of action
Abraham father of faith (1) We are the spiritual children of Abraham Rom 4:11 And he received a sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith while still uncircumcised; so that he might be the father of all those believing through uncircumcision, for righteousness to be imputed to them also;
Abraham father of faith (2) Gal 3:6-9 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness. (7) Therefore know that those of faith, these are the sons of Abraham. (8) And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the nations through faith, preached the gospel before to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all nations be blessed." (9) So then those of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Abraham father of faith (3) Abraham the father of priestly kingdom Rom 3:28-29 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the works of the Law. (29) Or is He the God of the Jews only, and not also of the nations? Yes, of the nations also Or Does God bless the Jews only, and not also bless the nations? Yes, He bless the nations also
Abraham Father of Missions (1) Gen 12:1-3 And Jehovah said to Abram, Go out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house into a land that I will show you. (2) And I will make you a great nation. And I will bless you and make your name great. And you shall be a blessing. (3) And I will bless those that bless you and curse the one who curses you. And in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Abraham Father of Missions (2) Act 1:8 But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Abraham Father of Action in Faith Faith is more than just a being spiritual To Evangelize is an ACT of faith Faith is to obey God the basis Faith is courage the first fruit Faith is action the first realization Faith is to be under God s providence, God s power. Faith is being blessed Through faith, all are to be blessed. That is the core of missions and that is the essence of God will
Conclusion God s Himself is the blessing to all people. Abraham is the father of faith, the father of missions and the father of actions in faith. We, as the spiritual children of Abraham, are to continue God s glorious commission in bring God s blessings to the world through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
