Eastern and Western agencies in North Dakota and Clay County, MN worked tirelessly in 2023 to distribute food to those in need, serving 261,991 households through innovative programs. Agencies received support, including equipment and funding, to enhance their food sourcing and operations. The Great Plains Food Bank recognized outstanding partners with the prestigious Agency of the Year award, encouraging community engagement and service excellence.

P assion, Service, Innovation A gencies are intuitively responding to the needs in their areas Interpretation Services Increasing pantry hours Sw apping to an open shopping m ethod In 2023, agencies across N orth D akota and C lay C ounty M N distributed 12,137,929 # s 261,991 H ouseholds 261,991 H ouseholds w ere served in 2023 37 37 agencies benefitted from the C argill G rant by participating in A gency E nabled R etail R escue. N ew coolers, freezers, scales, therm om eters or therm al blankets w ere provided at no cost to those agencies. G PFB has increased our food sourcing by 26.2% 26.2% in order to provide m ore variety, larger quantities, and consistent access to item s needed in your pantries. A gencies have spent 38.9% less com pared to FY23. W e are able to do this through grants, governm ent support, and general subsidies 12,137,929 # s 38.9% less on product on our ordering sheet in FY24

A gency of the Year - P assion Show s com passion, heart, and a tireless determ ination to end hunger along w ith an enthusiasm that inspires colleagues and com m unity m em bers to join them in their w ork. This partner . H as been in our netw ork since 1992 They served 1,430 households and distributed 134,022 pounds in 2023 as the only food pantry in their county. They are know n in their com m unity for com passion, respect, and service. They have a robust group of volunteers from all backgrounds. Im plem ented holiday boxes to provide to fam ilies.   6. A gency of the Year - Service G oes above and beyond to m eet the needs of clients, and increase collaboration and engagem ent w ith com m unity m em bers, donors or volunteers. This partner . A gency of the Year - Innovation A dvances the collaborative m ission to end hunger by developing creative solutions, new ideas, enhances program s & services, or m ore efficient processes or system s. This partner H as been in our netw ork since 2007 They distributed over 8,000# s of food in 2023 E stablished a local grocery store voucher program C reated m onthly m eal bags that contain everything needed to m ake a m eal including recipe and instructions Offers delivery service to those w ho are hom ebound or unable to travel The w inner is Steele C ounty Food P antry!
