Human Resources Payroll Center (HRPC) Centralized HR Payroll Unit transacting all payroll actions for UC Merced employees through systemwide UCPath payroll system Staff, Academic, Student Employees - Unique Payroll requirements Bi-Weekly and Monthly cycles Hire to Retire - New, Current, Separate, Retire Other Pay and Appointment Status Changes Leaves, Stipends,, Merit, Equity, STAR, Appointment Changes, Promotions, Reclassifications etc. Employment Verifications UCPath System Implementation and Integration - Workforce Administration (WFA) Compliance - Federal, State, UC Policies, Collective Bargaining Agreements, etc.

  5. Benefits The Centralized Benefits Unit in HR provides valuable benefits related information and employee support services for UC Merced staff and faculty employees. This support focus aligns with pertinent governing requirements within associated Federal, State, University Policies, and Collective Bargaining Agreement resources. Health and Welfare Benefits Medical/Dental, Vision, Legal Plan, Life Insurance, AD&D, FSA, etc. Counsels and provides group insurance Information and assistance to employees, dependents, and survivors Plan options, policy features, and enrollments Provide UC Path Center (UCPC) Self Service Resource Information to employees Leaves Of Absences - Process and Manage Employee Requests Personal, FMLA, Pregnancy, Non-Pregnancy Parental, Professional Development Accommodations Counsel And Assist Employees and Supervisors Disability, Lactation, Religious Workers Compensation - Work Related Injury or Illness

  6. Talent Acquisition Talent Acquisition Services provides services to the campus on a full range of employment issues including recruitment, hiring, and policy interpretation. Talent Acquisition Services assists campus departments and job seekers in the application of employment policies and procedures, programs and fair hiring practices. Develop diverse candidate pools through use of strategic sourcing and advertisement Providing guidance and consultation on Applicant Screening Interview Process Reference Checks Salary Setting (in consultation with Compensation) Certify applicant pools Review offer letters Personnel Files

Employee & Labor Relations Through various forms of intervention, including problem-solving, mediation, training and counseling, Labor Relations offers balanced advocacy to management and individual employees to protect their respective rights and facilitate a more harmonious work environment. Facilitate Conflict Resolution Administer and interpret labor agreements and policy Administer formal complaint and grievance procedures Oversee Performance Management Administer Halogen Oversee corrective action procedures Lead local bargaining Investigations/Fact-Finding (excludes Title IX, EEO, Discrimination)
