FCI has implemented the Depot Online System (DOS) to automate depot operations for food grains in owned and hired godowns. The lack of a central system led to the assessment of current practices and the development of Minimum Storage Specifications. The plan includes automation, computerization, and a Central Portal to enhance monitoring and standardization.

  2. Objective of Online Storage Management FCI has implemented Depot Online System (DOS) To cater to end-to-end automation of depot operations In its Owned and Hired godowns DCP States store food grains in their own (State Agency) godowns Varied levels of automation and standardization of Storage management practices No central system exists To ensure monitoring of SOPs and standards/guidelines laid out by the GoI FCI undertook assessment Of existing landscape, current SOP compliance levels, automation levels Gap analysis to devise the Minimum Storage Specifications (MSS) Subsequently, the automation/computerization of Storage Operations to be undertaken along with the development of a Central portal (Umbrella Application)

  3. Minimum Storage Specifications Capability to compute storage capacity: Capability to compute storage capacity: Whether the system has the inherent capability to compute the storage capacity available at the storage point and to capture capacity utilization on a daily basis. Capability to reflect stock position: Capability to reflect stock position: Depiction of Opening Balance, Issues (Dispatches, Scheme-wise offtake) and Closing balance of stock position at the storage point; ability to capture the crop year-wise break-up of stocks held Stacking and Truck Stacking and Truck- -wise receipt information: wise receipt information: Capability to drill down to the stack level in a storage point and be able to correlate stacks with the details of the trucks on which the stock was received Infestation status Infestation status and capture the quality details of the stacks, their current status of infestation and the treatments applied to the stacks and Treatment details of stacks: Treatment details of stacks: Ability to
