She dedicated her life to helping people Kamala studied to become an attorney so that she could serve her community. She fought to protect people s rights. When she became a senator, she fought to create laws that would protect people. Kamala always wanted to do more to help others. Kamala made her way to the White House Joe Biden asked her to run as his vice president, and in 2020, they won! Kamala made history as the first woman to be vice president of the United States. She is also the first Jamaican American and the first Indian American to hold that office. Her story is still unfolding As a child, Kamala watched her parents fight for justice. Then she followed in their footsteps. What will she do next? Her legacy as vice president is just beginning.
