AEO status is granted to economic operators who meet specific criteria and work closely with customs authorities. There are two types of authorisations - AEOC for customs simplifications and AEOS for security and safety. Benefits include easier customs procedures and reduced controls. The programme allows for mutual recognition with other countries, promoting international trade efficiency.
