What Is Easter? Who is Easter important to? Easter is an important holiday to Christians. What are Christians? Christians are people who believe in Jesus Christ. In this picture, Jesus s friends cannot believe he is living again.
Lent What happens during Lent? Lent is 40 days long. During Lent, many Christians stop eating things like cookies and chocolate. They don t eat them for 40 days! Priests wear purple during Lent. Purple is the color of suffering. Easter brings the end of Lent. It is a happy time.
The Meaning of Easter What do Christians believe about Easter? Christians believe that Jesus died. Then they believe he came to life again on Easter Day.
New Life Why is Easter a time of new life? Spring is a time of new life. Easter is in the spring. We can see new plants and new baby animals in the spring.
All About Easter Eggs Why do we eat eggs at Easter? Eggs are another symbol of new life. Many birds have their young in the spring. Jesus also got a new life at Easter.
Chocolate Eggs Where was the first chocolate egg made? The first chocolate egg was made in France in the 1800s. The biggest egg was taller than a giraffe and heavier than an elephant.
The Easter Bunny What is the Easter Bunny? The Easter Bunny comes from Germany. It brings Easter eggs to good children. But bad kids get no eggs.
Easter in Sweden What do people in Sweden do for Easter? Kids dress as witches and wizards. They eat chocolate cake. People hang witches from their houses. Some people paint witches on eggs.
Easter in Australia What is the Easter Bilby? The Easter Bilby is only in Australia. It looks like a rabbit. You can get a chocolate bilby in Australia.
Easter in France What do people in France do at Easter? In Haux, France, they make a big omelet. They use 4,500 eggs. That s a very big omelet.
