Social Mission Metrics Initiative: Advancing Health Equity and Addressing Disparities
Defined as the contribution of health professions schools in advancing health equity and addressing societal health disparities, the Social Mission Metrics Initiative offers a free system of metrics to assess the social mission of dental, medical, and nursing schools. The initiative's history, measures, outcomes, and areas of assessment reflect its comprehensive approach to evaluating schools' performance in areas such as curriculum, community collaborations, diversity, and activism, with positive associations found in graduates' practice placements.

Social Mission Defined Social Mission is the contribution of a health professions school in its mission, programs, and the performance of its graduates, faculty, and leadership in advancing health equity and addressing the health disparities of the society in which it exists.
