  3. In a time full of war, be peace In a time full of doubt, just believe Yeah, there ain't that much difference between you and me In a time full of war, be peace In a world full of hate, be a light When you do somebody wrong, make it right Don't hide in the dark, you were born to shine In a world full of hate, be a light (La-la-la, la, la, la, la) In a place that needs a change, make a difference In a time full of noise, just listen 'Cause life is but a breeze, better live it In a place that needs a change, make a difference In a world full of hate, be a light When you do somebody wrong, make it right Oh, don't hide in the dark, you were born to shine In a world full of hate, be a light (La-la-la, la, la, la, la...) In a race that you can't win, slow it down Yeah, you only get one go around 'Cause the finish line is six feet in the ground In a race you can't win, just slow it down In a world full of hate, be a light (Oh-oh) When you do somebody wrong, make it right (Make it right) Oh, don't hide in the dark, you were born to shine In a world full of hate, be a light Yeah, it's hard to live in color, when you just see black and white In a world full of hate, be a light

  4. Thomas Rhett wrote the song Be a Light in 2019, but chose to release it to the world in the middle of the Coronavirus outbreak. Thomas said that he wanted people to think about being a light in a dark place; being an encouragement to others. Thomas thought that his song s message would be particularly good for this time. Do you agree? Why? Why do you think Thomas chose the image of a light for his song? The video show lots of images of lighthouses. What do lighthouses do? In the Bible, Jesus told people to let your light shine . Human beings don t literally light up like a lighthouse. What do you think he meant? How is this similar to what Thomas is saying in the song? In a place that needs a change, make a difference In a world full of hate, be a light How can you be like a lighthouse? In the song Thomas writes: Now try the extra challenge

  5. Jesus said to his disciples, "You are the light of world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14 19 What do you think Jesus meant when he told us to be a light ? How we get this light? Does it ever go out? How can we let our light shine in our families, at school, with friends, with neighbours, at church? Is there anywhere else that you could try to do this? Prayer Christ our God, We are glad that we have You as a light to show us the way to heaven. Please let Your light shine brightly within us and help us to shine brightly for others. Amen.
