To keep the spirit and friendship of the Cursillo weekends alive within the community To inspire us to stay true to our Ideal To motivate us to persevere in our mission of apostolic action, bringing others to Christ To help people find or form a group To provide a place where everyone is welcome, where each person is valued, and where we feel God s loving presence among us

  3. Grouping 4th Day Talk (aka Witness Talk) Affirmations (aka Echos) Spiritual Advisor Reflection Closing Prayer (before the Blessed Sacrament, if possible)

  4. Songs, Welcome, Meal Blessing Pot-luck Dinner Songs, then introduce speaker 4th Day Talk 2 Affirmations Grouping [Reflection by a Spiritual Advisor, if present] Announcements Closing Prayer, then Final Song

  5. Talk should be a personal sharing of how the speaker is currently living out their 4th Day. It should share the speaker s growing union with Christ, growing knowledge of Christ, and how the speaker is bringing others to Christ. It should make us think that evangelization is a natural thing. Talk should be no longer than 20 minutes A Speaker Guidelines sheet is available.

  6. Pray for the Ultreya and speaker Select a date Reserve the meeting place (e.g., Get a date on the parish calendar; include time for setup and cleanup) Invite a 4th Day Speaker, and send them the Speaker Guidelines Create a flyer and send it to the Post Cursillo chairperson (Bernie Ocampo) Send reminder/flyer to parish e-mail list

  7. Recruit someone to introduce the speaker, or get to know them enough to do it yourself Recruit musicians Invite priests and deacons Recruit people to help with setup and cleanup, perhaps some to serve as kitchen angels Find out parish policies and procedures for use of the facilities; get training, if required Submit bulletin notice, if desired

  8. Get supplies and decorations Prepare handouts and sign-in sheet Prepare agenda and list of announcements Make or obtain posters and signs Arrange childcare place and personnel, if desired Prepare songsheets, if desired Obtain Cursillo car stickers to sell, if desired

  9. Examples of policies & procedures to be aware of: how and when to check out keys, how to use the sound system, how to check out microphone, how to control A/C or heating, how to use food warmers, what the setup policy is for tables and chairs, how it is to be cleaned up Decide whether committee brings main dishes Handouts: List of Cursillo dates and info Cursillo applications Obtain coloring books, crayons, etc. if desired

  10. If having potluck or other refreshments, supplies needed include: Plates, silverware, napkins, hot/cold cups Serving utensils, platters, ziplock bags Coffee maker, coffee, creamer, stir sticks Teapot, tea bags, sugar, sweetener Waters, other drinks Hot pads for serving table, dish soap, sponges, dish towels, extension cord, donation basket Tablecloths, centerpieces and other decorations, if desired

  11. Pick up keys, microphone, etc. If mass precedes the Ultreya, have a few people there before mass time to receive dishes of food before mass. Put out signs and banner Set up the space for the potluck and the Ultreya Meet, greet and seat Follow your agenda. Remember to recruit 2 affirmers during the mealtime. Clean up according to parish policies

  14. Did we strengthen the bonds of friendship within the Cursillo community? Did everyone feel welcomed? Were we inspired to persevere in our 4th Day, feeling encouraged to grow in our own Piety, Study and/or Apostolic Action? Did those not currently grouping get to have an experience of grouping, and perhaps even find others with whom to form a group? Yes? Then we give thanks for God s blessings!!
